SIZE

Deciding on the size of pet portrait may seem daunting at first, but I promise you, when you see your pet on canvas, giving thought to these questions will be worth it! So to help you, here are a few things I recommend thinking about, leading up to our consultation:

⟡ Give thought to where would you like the portrait displayed in your home. Do you want a bigger statement piece that will be on a feature wall for all to see? Will it be a smaller piece to fit a smaller space? This may help you guesstimate the size that will work for you.

⟡ Would you like one subject or multiple subjects on the same canvas?

⟡ If it is a gift, where would you like it delivered to?

⟡ Is there a budget you would like to work within?

Remember, this can be only a guestimate! We will discuss it further in our consultation, if you are still not sure. One thing for certain, whatever size you choose, it will be a treasured memory for a lifetime!

PRICING

The pricing of each portrait is dependent on many different factors, such as size, number of subjects, quality of reference photo, if it's a rush order & so much more. This is why all pricing is given out in the consultation, after we discuss your vision for your commissioned artwork.

When the size of portrait is decided on, a 25% deposit secures your booking on the wait list, via bank transfer. The remaining payment can be made once the portrait is complete and you are fully happy with it. If you’d like to pay in monthly instalments, this is something that can be arranged.

Payment plans are available to fit within any budget.

I will always confirm the details of your commissioned pet portrait before I begin.

REFERENCE PHOTOS

For a very detailed pet portrait, you will need a really good quality photo of your pet. It is particularly important to capture the character of your pet through their position or facial expression. Natural lighting is always best, by a window or preferably outdoors with no direct sunlight. I need to be able to see your pet's eyes clearly. I usually find that holding a treat directly above the camera is a good way of holding their attention. The better the photo, the better the painting!

Preferably original image, rather than screenshots or photos that have been transferred through apps as they degrade the quality. The best way to send photos is via email.

I use one main photo to draw from, but it helps if you send me a selection in various lights and poses so I can get a sense of the pet’s character. I also love hearing about your pets' personalities and stories, as it really helps me feel connected with your pet's portrait.

If you are unsure of whether your images are suitable, please feel free to email me a selection of the ones you have, so I can offer any advice in capturing a better photograph and check if they are suitable to draw from.

I understand that some of our pets are sadly no longer with us, and in this case, I will do my best to work with the photographs you have. My heart goes out to you and would love to accommodate a memorial portrait whenever I can.

BOOK YOUR PET PORTRAIT

Once you have an idea on the size portrait you’d like and you have gathered a selection of suitable reference photos, the next step is to get in contact with me. You can fill in the form at the top or bottom of this page.

Once we have a consultation and have agreed on terms, I will send you a Commission Agreement to confirm details of commission.

Actual bookings are put on my calendar after details have been agreed on and a deposit has been made.

I usually have around a 1 month waiting list, so please bear this in mind if you need the portrait completed by a certain date. If you have a closer deadline than this, then I will do my best to accommodate you!

COMPLETION

When your pet portrait is complete, I will send you a photo for you to approve the completion. Once you are 100% happy with your portrait, the remaining payment can be made.

All artwork is held in in my care until the final payment is received.
